Changing your Novell password

While Novell forces periodic password changes, there may be times when you want to change your password between forced changes.  To change your Novell password:

1.      Press CTRL+ALT+DEL one time.

2.      Click “Change Password”

3.      Type the existing password, the new password, then type the new password again to confirm it.

4.      Click OK

5.      Click OK at the message that the password has been successful changed.

6.      Click Cancel to exit the Netware Security screen.

Excel Toolbars

Excel provides a variety of toolbars that can help you as you create and work with spreadsheets.  Click View, Toolbars to display the list of toolbars available in Excel.  To display a toolbar, select it from the list.

In addition, some toolbar buttons have more than one function. For example – clicking on the Print toolbar button sends your worksheet to the printer, but holding the SHIFT key and clicking the Print button opens the spreadsheet in Print Preview.  Here are some other toolbar buttons that can perform more than one function.

If you decide to customize your toolbar and want to eliminate some buttons to make room for others, it might be helpful to know what buttons have more than one function. Deleting the buttons whose function is covered by one of the multi function buttons gives you more room to add other buttons.

E~Print: Slow File Display

Slow file display in E~Print can be corrected in this way:

Open Adobe Acrobat (or Adobe Acrobat reader, depending on which you have).

Select Edit, Preferences and in the Internet section, set the Connection Speed to LAN.

Word: Word cannot locate Clip Art

When attempting to insert clip art in a Word file, you may receive a message similar to this one.

This message is probably  being generated because we have moved to a new server.  Click the Browse button.  Another message will display

Make a note of the information in the above message  - specifically the information about where the file is located and its name (My Documents\My Pictures\Microsoft Clip Organizer\Pe07291.wmf.  Click Browse again.  Browse to the folder indicated in the error message (usually this will be H:\ My Documents\My Pictures\Microsoft Clip Organizer), select the file and click Open.  At the prompt asking if you want to use the new file anyway, click Yes.  The image will now display.

What I have found is that doing this for a clip art image seems to prevent the error message from displaying for most of the other clip art images, however, every now and then I have to do it again.

Also note that instead of selecting Browse, you can select “Remove Thumbnail” to remove the image from your clip art collection.
