Windows XP:
Requesting Remote Assistance
Windows XP allows users to ask for
technical assistance remotely and in many cases, I can provide remote assistance
much more quickly than I can if I have to go to the user’s workstation. Think about using Remote Assistance the next
time you need help. Instructions
are here.
When you import a text file into
Excel, you might need to change all of the column formats from General to
Text. This can be time consuming if the
file contains a large number of columns.
To speed things along, at step 3 of the import process, select the first
column, then scroll until the last column is visible. Hold down the Shift key and select the last
column, and then change the data type to Text.
