How Excel Calculates

If you have a complex formula, it might help to know how Excel will calculate it:

Any part of the formula in brackets will be calculated first. After that, Excel calculates multiplication and/or division calculations from left to right in the formula, followed by addition and/or subtraction calculations, again, in the order they appear in the formula from left to right.
