If Adobe Acrobat displays an X instead of the desired web page, close Internet Explorer.

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat
  2. From the Adobe Acrobat menu, select Edit, Preferences, General.

  3. Select options from the list on the left side of the screen.
  4. On the Options tab, uncheck “Display PDF in Browser and then close Adobe Acrobat
